RMS Pre-Formed Thermoplastic Rolls

Pre-formed Thermoplastic Rolls are a fast, permanent re-instatement solution for  road markings available in both white and yellow. They were designed for quick application on  roadways, warehouses, pavements, car parks or any other heavily trafficked areas.

Application

Clean application area thoroughly by removing all sand, dirt, chemicals and oily substances. 

Using a suitable propane torch, remove any moisture  present and pre-heat the area prior to treatment. Use Probit Bitumen  primer on non asphaltic and aggregate rich surfaces. Probit Mex  Prime can be used where a black coloured primer is unacceptable. 

Remove the packaging and carefully place the Pre-formed Thermoplastic Tape onto the prepared surface with the glass coated top  facing up. Position the tape as accurately as possible and cut to size. 

Heat the Pre-formed Thermoplastic Tape using a suitable propane  torch keeping the flame approximately 20-40 cm from the tape. Do  not concentrate the heat in one area and heat with an even  sweeping action. Heat until the tape starts bubbling and flowing  into the road surface. 

The Pre-formed Thermoplastic Tape should cool and harden within 5-10 minutes. When cooled, examine the tape and test by trying to  lift. If areas do lift, repeat step 4. 

Storage

Pre-formed Thermoplastic Rolls are supplied in packaging designed to protect the material  during transit. It is recommended that they should be kept totally dry and stored away from direct  sunlight and areas of potential contamination. The product shelf life is 12 months. Cold  temperatures will result in the material becoming more brittle.
