Rocbinda is a two part, solvent free polyurethane resin system, comprising of base and activator components, which is designed for use with various types and grades of aggregate to produce anti-skid and anti-slip surfaces. It can be pigmented for use with coloured aggregates as a decorative surface or as a traffic calming measure. Rocbinda holds BBA certificate No. 12/H196 issued under HAPAS for type 1 high friction surface applications. For working temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees centigrade a catalyst is available to speed up cure times, reduce traffic delays and increase productivity. Pigment dosing systems are available in various colours for addition to our standard khaki resin to reduce the necessity to carry large stocks of different coloured units.
As an anti-skid system, Rocbinda is applied on the approaches to pedestrian crossings, junctions and roundabouts. It is also used as an anti-slip system on a range of structures such as footbridges, ramps, subways, multi-storey car parks and on pedestrian areas in general. It can be used in its decorative format to visually change existing hard standings and to provide sympathetic hard wearing solutions to a variety of architectural and landscaped areas. Rocbinda will adhere to bituminous surfaces, concrete, steel, and timber. It will also fully waterproof the substrate if used as a two-layer application. With an elongation at break of >45% (Specification for Highway Works August 1994 Clause 924 requires High Friction Surfacing materials to have an elongation at break of not less than 30%), Rocbinda has a higher flexibility which means it has a greater ability to flex with substrate movement.
